We had a lightning storm last night and damage a lot of our electronics.... My laptop work ok exempt the USB doesn't properly work on it. Anything I plug into it receives power but does not function. It says unknown device all the time. Is there anything I can do or can I just call my laptop farewell?

it sounds like you need to install the drivers.
where your usb devices working before the storm, then just stopped? did you delete file, do disk clean up or anything?

try going to start, accessories, system tools, then system restore. do a restore to an earlier point

it might be wise to invest in a surge protector. It would have saved your laptop

I'll buy that laptop since I have no usb devices. that is if it doesn't get fixed. email me
