Okay guys opinions needed.
Take a look at this skirt:

For those who can't or won't it is purple, just past the knees and has bits of gold at the bottom. (Rubbish at describing, so take a look!)
I have a pair of brown espadrille shoes with have bits of gold on too. Do you think I could wear a cream top to go with the purple then the brown shoes with gold to match the gold on the skirt? Or would this be chuck the style book at her moment?

The skirt and shoes will go fine. You could go for a neutral shirt, but not black bcoz of the brown shoes lol! What about plae purple or something. Or white, and if you've the money a jacket, that's the purple of the skirt
I think you're idea of the cream shirt is perfect.

Have you got a light purple or gold or brown tank top or cami? Try wearing that underneath your cream top so the straps show just a bit, just to bring some color up to your top. The shoes sound cute and the skirt is adorable.

The shoes are great for the skirt but the shirt isan't wear a purple or a gold shirt with this skirt so you look collected instead of messed up

That is a cute skirt!!! Yes those shoes sound good, but I'm not so sure on the top... I can't think of a color to go with that right now...

i love that skirt, its casual and cute and the same time. and the shoes sound like they would go good with the skirt. i would personally wear a gold-ish and beige type shirt with that skirt

the skirt is cool.
I really think what you described with the shoes and top will look fine. the cream top is a neutral color and goes with any color.
