Great post sokokl.
If the odour is coming from your vagina, then it could be as mentioned yeast, an infection or even a small hole in the vaginalrectal wall, allowing the faecal odour to come through you vagina.
If the odour is coming from only the perineum. The smell could be from aprocine gland (sweat glands that release oily scent) infection, or the odour from sweat eating bacteria(that washing doesnt kill). The aprocine gland infection can be treated by a Doctor.
The sweat eating bacteria can be kill by the following:
Try washing the area with antibacterial soap, vodka, baking-soda+water solution or vinegar.
Antibacterial soap, cornstarch, vodka, baking-soda+water solution or vinegar , singularly or in combination, all kill the smell-creating bacteria( the bacteria eats sweat and creates an odour) and neutralise the aprocine sweat scent, that washing doesnt remove. You could the juices from tomatos, thats used to remove the scent of skunks. Skunk scent is very hard to neutralise, so tomato sauce will work for human scent.
Also, change your underwear daily(if you dont already), and wash your clothes with coloursafe bleach , to kill the odour causing bacteria in the clothes
Some other ideas are here
be careful about rubbing alcohol, as that hardens and thickens the skin

Odour can also be caused by the food you eat, the smell comes through the skin and the sweat, so investigate there also. Drink plenty of water, that reduces the smell of the sweat also.
Good Luck

First, he should go to his family doctor and have a thorough checkup. Some diseases or medical conditions cause a person to have an unpleasant odor. Does he smoke, drink, chew tobacco, or anything else that might affect his personal scent? Is he on any medications that could cause it? Also, ask him to keep a food diary and mark down what he eats on a daily basis. He may be eating or drinking something that would give him this odor, such as onions, garlic, other strong foods. Change everything you are using that comes into contact with his skin, including laundry detergent, fabric softener, bath soap, powder, etc. Lastly, and you may not like this possibility, that may just simply be his own personal scent. Interestingly enough, we each exude pheromones, scents that are meant to attract someone of our own species from the opposite gender. Usually, we are attracted to the scent of our mate. Unfortunately, this might just be his scent, and even though you are attracted to him, you don't like his scent! Do thorough research on this issue, and hopefully, you and he will find an answer. If there is no solution, still hang in there with him. If you love each other, perhaps this is something you can overcome. He might be worth the challenge! Something kinda funny along these lines, when my husband and I were first married, back in 1980, he would come home from work, all dirty and stinky from painting houses all day. I'd hug him and sniff the back of his neck, and it always smelled like paint thinner, which usually stinks. Weirdly enough, I now and always have loved that smell, because it is the scent of my hubby! Isn't that crazy? Anyway, good luck, and I will pray for a solution for you.

Try buying OTC medication to clear up any possible yeast in the vagina. You might have an infection that is causing this. If the OTC stuff doesn't work, you probably should see your GYN about the problem and let them prescribe a stronger suppository to help get it under control.
You could also wear small pads and change them periodically throughout the day if you are having any discharge at all. That way your underpants stay clean until you can try the methods above. Also buy the feminine wipes or spray (not powders) and use those at work to keep the outside cleaner and try to cut down on the smell that way. I prefer the sprays because I can use as much as I need when the problem hits.
I used to get yeast infections all the time and found out some of the foods I was eating was causing some of my problems. Limit your yeast and sugar intake and be careful about antibiotics because they can cause an imbalance in the vagina and cause you to get yeast infections (I found out the hard way). Be sure and drink lots of water, too, to help flush things through your system.
Good luck ~ hope you can get this resolved soon so you won't have to worry about it so much.

RE:
Persistent bad body odor: Acidic soap cure?
I work in publishing/media, and the people who work in the adjacent cubicles complain constantly about the smell in the office. For the record, I shower every day and take meticulous care of myself (fitness, veggie diet, etc.) I've been to many doctors (gynecologists and a reproductive...

I know you mentioned that you have been to several drs but I wonder if any of them have checked you for hormone imbalances. Certain hormone imbalances such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome can have body odor be a symptom of the problem.
I just found this part out myself about a month ago thanks to one of the programs on Discovery Health when they recently talked about the hormone imbalance that I have going on. And one of the things that they mentioned in the program was of the issue of body odor.
There are some other symptoms to PCOS of course such as with the period and the like but it can have atypical symptoms too and for some women this thing of a body odor would be considered as such.
After I saw that program then I began to understand why it is that sometimes no matter how many times I showered and such that I still got a horrible smell in my underarms.

See the doctor again. Ask them to put you on an antibiotic in case you have an underlying infection. My mother had the same problem once and it was because she had an infection that she wasnt over. She didnt even feel sick. She was prescribed an antibiotic and the dirtyness went away.
