What did you use that was different? Do you have anything like Benadryl ointment? That may help.

I am so sorry for some of the answers you have gotten here. The ones that were nice and tried to help you out weighs the others. I found a web site and part of the information is here. The site is posted below so you can go see the rest of the article. I hope you feel better soon. This is not a funny matter. When it hurts to put your arms down, it isn't funny.

Razor burn
Razor burn is an irritation of the skin caused by shaving either at sensitive areas or not using proper technique. It appears as a mild rash and usually disappears after a few hours to a few days, depending on severity. In severe cases, razor burn can also be accompanied by razor bumps, where the area around shaved hairs get raised red welts or infected pustules.

Razor burn is a common problem, especially among those who shave coarse hairs on areas with sensitive skin like the bikini line, underarms, chest, and beard.

The condition can be caused by shaving too closely, shaving with a blunt blade, dry shaving, applying too much pressure when shaving, shaving too quickly or roughly, or shaving against the grain.

Ways to prevent razor burn include keeping the face moist, using a shaving brush and lather, using a moisturising shaving gel, shaving in the direction of the hair growth, resisting the urge to shave too closely, applying minimal pressure, avoiding scratching or irritation after shaving, avoiding irritating products on the shaved area (colognes, perfumes, etc.) and using an aftershave cream with aloe vera or other emollients

Ways to heal razor burn include applying witch hazel, mild salicylic acid solutions, aloe vera gel or cold water.

It's called razor burn....ouch!

What you can do is put something like aloe or some other soothing cream on it until it heals. Basically you have shaved off that outermost layer of skin along with the hair.

Next time, make sure you use a good shave cream AND a good razor.

The red rashlike thing and the prickly feeling you are noticing have to do with razor burn. If you have some baby oil as well try applying that to the area as well. That should help it heal some.

If the redness still doesn't clear up by Mon please call your dr to see what else they can recommend to help you with this.

Don't sweat it. Use shaving cream whenever you shave there, DONT shave dry. Don't use creams on it, it'll make it worse. Those red rashes are from sweat, so try using an anti-bacterial soap such as DIAL to cleanse the area. .....Drama Queen lol

It's fine to use deodorant. It's just razor burn. Remember to use shaving gel or shaving cream next time.

mmm a little over the top for such a small issue.

any way here goes, use a small (neat) amount of lavender oil on the tip of your finger and rub in circular motions. You may think it'll sting when you put it on but believe me it wont, I use it on open cuts and fresh burns and it's fine.
good luck
