i dont, matter of fact i am not allowed, every time there is a storm, we shut our computer down because if the power goes out it is not good for the computer just to shut down. It can save, store, and last longer if you just take 5 min right after noticing the storm to properly shut it down. You should also unplug the computer so if the power flickers, on, and off, the computer does not turn on, and off, so when the storm is clear, and every thing is seattled down and calm, then is the best tiem to plug it back in, and turn it on.

I DEFINITELY go off these days.
I always thought people exaggerated and would keep using it but sit back a bit (lol) until a bolt hit someone I knows house and man it just makes you realise don't chance it because it can happen.
Why risk it when you can get back on soon enough.

Do you also turn off your television?

I had lightning come in through my tv once. I figure if it busts out an LCD screen, I'd rather deal with plastic than the glass from the TV.

I lost a TV that way once, but the lightening has to be very severe and directly hit the electric pole that is your source of power. I live in a high-rise now, it's grounded, so I don't have to worry.
