A 'party' is a tool. A country is a matrix that consists of every person and institution in it. Not to mention the physical infastructure, the economy and the natural ecology. A 'party' is useful to move forward with ideas and policies that enhance all of the above. Generaly speaking a party should strive to insure the greatest good for the greatest number. The current GOP, since its gotten in bed with the trans-national corporations, the Oil Mafia and the right wing political 'Christians' have in recent history failed miserably to even consider the effect of their retro policies on anything except the corporations, the oil establishment and the TV, Bible-beating, hollier than thou 'Christians'. The Democrats, while still at heart in favor of the American wage-earner, the environment and liberty and justice for all, haven't drawn a sword to defend all that in a long while. Hopefully all that will turn around. Hopefully the GOP will find its way back to being the party of Eisenhower. Being a yellow dog democrat, my party, to the extent it works for the good of my 'country' has my vote. If they do their job my country will reap the reward. If they don't, and the GOP continues its drive toward some dark fascisti future, our country doesn't have a future. At least not one I care to contemplate.

I never asked to be born in this country, and it is almost impossible to leave, unless your rich. So I feel stuck here. So no this country is not important to me, and I have no party.

We have no choice to choose a party, even if we find it not so good. A country is what lives in your blood, and doing anything you want, you can never forget it...
