Quite frankly... it's how I learned to cook... Trial, error and improvisation

Since my husband and I are both going to school full-time, and I have morning sickness at all hours of the day, we eat out most of the time. When I'm not sickened by the smell of food, and I'm not taking a full course load and working, I cook. In fact, I will start cooking all the time again as soon as I am no longer sick. Oh, and as for the gourmet cook comment: my husband is good at making eggs and patty melts. That's it. I cook everything from authentic Japanese to hamburgers, and everything in between. Also, my husband hates doing the dishes. If I didn't do it, they would sit in the sink until they smell funky. While I'm making dinner, he does his homework or watches TV. Thankfully, he sweeps the floor and takes out the trash on a regular basis; so it's all good in the end! Different relationships have different balances. Some people just don't have a clue about cooking. My husband grew up eating cereal for all three meals. **Oh, and your comment that all men have given more to cooking and cleaning efforts in the past; my Mom cooks everything my Dad eats. He sometimes makes a peanut butter sandwich for himself, but usually she even gets that for him. My grandmother did the same thing for my grandfather.
