I do not have any major or extreme activities or functions that require very high internet. But right now I have Charter and I am thinking of switching to Bellsouth (6 megs). The Bellsouth is $4 higher per month. I already have the modem. Thanks for any help. Thanks for any advice and/or help.

Well I have charter and it has been just fine. The 5meg is generally always right at 5meg and the line has been solid.
I also have bell (now AT&T lines) at an office - they are business class but still have been very good. The answer is really which one works best in your neighborhood.

Both can be degraded by the time of day and number of users. In most cases I think cable is a little more solid but that is an opinion. Between the speeds, I doubt in normal use you will be able to tell one from the other.

You also want to check the upload speed that is given to you it may be a factor to help you decide. Personnally I would save the 4.00 for lunch.
