Why is it that even when I'm surrounded by people, I feel all alone? I feel distant...

I hav people who love me, but i feel as if they'll got tired of me and longer love me, and leave. just don't feel like there's anyone I can truly connest with without fearing that they'll leave me if they really get to know me. Like i hav to put on a face and pretend everything's okay, and i'm not myself anymore

Because ultimately you are alone- we each experience the world through the filter of our individual consciousness, and can never be completely certain of anything except our own existence.

Now, in the "less than completely certain" category we make a lot of assumptions for the sake of convenience (like assuming what we experience is real and not simply an illusion) and that's where most of life happens.

You can't be too concerned about what other people may or may not be feeling towards you or thinking about you, since that's entirely dependent upon them- you can only control how you respond to the world. So don't waste energy trying to be something you're not- just BE yourself and eliminate that burden of wondering whether people love the real you or some artificial image you've been keeping up.

All the world's a stage... so enjoy the show!

An awful lot of people feel the same way, an awful lot.
Most people just don't talk about it.
I saw a survey a couple of weeks ago that said 1 out of 4 people feel they are totally socially isolated: meaning they didn't have a single person that they considered a confidante.
Thats pretty scary - but it also means that if you know a dozen people, 3 of them feel that way.

I had like the answer of Sandy G. =D
I fell almost the same thing =/
and for days i'm thinking that i'm a bit isolated, i like many different things, different musical styles, and etc, and i'm with a dificult of relationship with many peoples. Like Sandy G said, may be a question of personality, we must integrate with the people that make part of our days, etc.
by the way, i'll look for a medic help, to know really what it'is hehe.

see ya!

You could be suffering from depression. You might want to talk to your docotr about this, but from experience, depression is just that. It causes you to lose interest in what you do, so you feel isolated. You may also just not feel a connection with any of those people you're around., Maybe you don't know any of them, or feel like you have nothing in common with those around you, and so you feel isolated.

It happens to the best of us. It is more a matter of personality. You have to be the one to change and try to integrate with the people around you cos believe me, no-one will change for you.
