I have a 99 pontiac grand prix gt 3.8 liter v6. My heater and air conditioner stopped working a few days ago. When i move the switch from 1 through 5 nothing happens. Same thing with the air conditioner. The ac light comes on when on maximum ac but nothing is coming from the vents at all. Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong and how to fix this problem. Id greatly appreciate it. Thanks

This is actually a common problem with the 97 to 03 Grand Prix's. When mine did the same thing it was a blower motor resistor that went bad on my car.
There are two possible problems that cause this:
1: Blower motor resistor-usually only setting 5 works and all others go out. (Mine all settings went out)
2: If your Daytime running lights are acting up or not working along with your A/C/HEAT then it is your ignition switch.
Finally, but doubtfully it is your blower motor itself (Highly unlikely).
I have included a link on ClubGP.com's website that shows you with photos how to replace your blower motor resistor.
These only cost about $19 or so.
Good luck

I replaced several blower motor resistors on my GTP see if there is power on the blower motor wire and ground the other wire the fan should take off. If not it is the blower not the resistor. I am one of the founding menbers of club GP we're a great bunch and full of good ideas. Ground the motor that simulates the resistor being in there and if the blower does not run you found a worn out blower motor. If there is no power on the hot side of the blower there is another problem. Let us know.

Check your fuse box you might just have a fuse blown for the fan.

okay so there is 3 things that could be going on, 1st you heater core could be clogged up, but that would only cause the heater not to work,2nd could be that you are out of freon, but that would not affect you ac, the only thing i could think of is maybe your fan is broke or your air ducts are smashed or clogged.
