Socialism refers to a broad array of doctrines or political movements that envisage a socio-economic system in which property and the distribution of wealth are subject to control by the community. - Wikipedia definition Is this not what the Democratic party likes?

You clearly do not know the definition of fascism Caesar. The Republicans believe in individual liberty, which the Democrats don't because they believe in redistribution of wealth.

If I am to work, I want to keep MY money and distribute it to my bills, my wife and my kids. I don't want anyone else's hard earned money. I want to choose the type of healthcare I receive. One thing that can be said is true, survival of the fittest. If you're weak in this country, you'll be a victim of the Dems socialist programs. As far as the accusations of liberals of us being fascists, one would have to at least believe in this: "First and most important is the glorification of the state and the total subordination of the individual to it.". I do not want anyone to be subordinate the state, just be proud of it, love it if you want, it's your choice. Stop with the slander liberals, accept that you lost and you are still bu** hurt that you lost the office 8 years ago and 4 years ago...big pansies.

So many Democrats, principally the self-professed ultra liberal ones, don't even understand the definition of the terms they are dealing with. For example, if someone is touting a new government program, all they have to do to lure the clueless, hapless Liberal is to present the idea as being the fulfillment of social justice, that it is a program of generosity. Libs eat this stuff up, but they don't realize what is being put before them is pure Socialism.

Soviet dictator Khrushchev once observed: "We can't expect the American people to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism."

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." - Norman Thomas

You may think I am being dismissive of Democrats, but in my experience, Conservatives think, Liberals just feel. I once had a heated argument with a Liberal. When I produced a copy of the Constitution and conclusively proved that what he was talking about was not written there, he didn't admit that he was wrong. He just shot back, "Oh yeah? Well......... it should be!" That is the Liberal attitude in a nutshell. They don't care about reality. They believe that whatever they conceive as being best should be adopted, no matter whether it is sensible, practical, or if it is even Constitutional.

Because that is too obvious. The lib/dems love to think, and preach, that they are all for the "little guy". I don't know about anybody else, but I am sick and tired of these self righteous over priviledged, over indulged, over sheltered big haired limousine liberals of the belt way trying to look down on me as some unwashed country bumkin that can't put one foot in front of the other without their help which always means helping themselves to my wallet.
WHAT DO THEY TAKE US FOR?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The only thing that's important to a liberal, is a liberal's own self importance.
Everybody is too stupid to handel their own affairs, thus everybody needs the liberal's help to spend their money for them so that it all benefits some bullcrap greater good.
You have to remember that in a socialist society, it is the intellectual "class" that rules everything. "The Intelligensia".
Ever wonder why the lib/dems like to crow about "moral authority"? Ever wonder why they never met a tax they didn't like? Ever wonder how and why they have insinuated themselves into what used to be our educational system?
It's no longer about learning, it's about indoctrination. Ever wonder why they are so dead set against our country being able to defend all of us while bleating about the supposed loss of their rights? Note: The aclu is now engaged in a lawsuit to try to remove both crosses and stars of david from the graves of veterans in national cemeteries, because that's offensive to an atheist. Ever wonder about the hate the campagin against the rich? It's all about about class warfare. Enterpenuership is to be punished. Wealth is not to be earned, it is only to be distrubuted even while the "elite" accumulate vast sums for political gains. It was Nikita Kruechesev(sp) who noted that americans will never accept communism howerver, we can help them along by calling socialism "liberalism" and thus feeding them small doses untill one day they wake up to the fact that they are living in communism, and wondering how they got there. The list could go on far into the night. For now I have a question for all of you out there who like to think of yourselves as independant thinkers who have the courage to question authority.
If you are so courageous, will you question the authority of the left? Or are you so indoctrinated that no questioning is allowed?

"Various scholars attribute different characteristics to fascism, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: nationalism, authoritarianism, militarism, corporatism, collectivism, totalitarianism, anti-communism, and opposition to economic and political liberalism."

The above is from the definition of "Facism" in Wikipedia.
Hmmmm....nationalism, check...
authoritariansim, see the Patriot Act, check
militarism, see invasion of Iraq, check
corporatism, BIG check
collectivism, can't put a check on this one. Yet.
totalitarianism, getting there, but not quite a check.
anti-communism, check
opposition to economic and political liberalism, HUGE check under this administration.

So, there you have it....we will call ourselves Socialists, the Republicans can call themselves Facists, and everything should be pretty clear then.

The Dems are not socialist. I think of socialism as public ownership of industries and resources. The Dems are for privitization/capitalism with appropriate oversight/regulation by government to prevent monopolies, abuse, and exploitation of the people.

Apparently you don't know what the definition of socialism is--so I'll help you out: socialism is the owership and/or direct control of the means of production.

And that's NOT the Democratic agenda.

Here's a few things that do fit the definition--of one form of socialism:

>government subsidies to major industries like the drug and oil industry.
>Control of scientific research for political purposes
>Reducing funds to social programs and shifting them to the military
>Inventing pretexts to invade and conquer other countries on the pasis of "pre-emptive war."
>suspension of civil rights and civil liberties

All policies of the Bush administration--and of the National Socialist Party (aka the Nazis).

If the Democrats are socialists (which they are not) I'll take their version any day of the week, thank you.
