Would she be willing to be restrained and blindfolded?
If so, you could place her on the bed, grab some items out of the fridge and perform your own version of "9 1/2 weeks"!
Mix in hot and cold items. Playfully, tease her mouth and body with different sensations! By taking away her sense of sight, it will enhance the other four senses. It will drive her crazy not know what she will experience next.

(this works great if you have an extra twin mattress or air mattress so you can put it on the floor and cover it with sheets and pilliows) Close the bedroom door and lock it (you are really busy and you will be out in a minute). Put candles is safe holders (pillars or votives on saucers which can be the .19 clay saucers from a garden dept). Take 2-3 roses and pull all the petals off, strew them all over the bed (or the bed you made on the floor) the floor leading to the bed, and around the candles. Go watch a video with the kids and put them to bed. go light those candles and then invite her in there. You might or might not choose to have a brandy or glass of wine there.
Out to dinner is nice, but a heavy meal make anybody want to sleep instead of stay up late..

depends on how open-minded she is... drop in at ur local adult store get a movie,oils,toys,handcuffs, blindfold, and whatever she might be willing to try. Hide it for later. Take her out to eat,then maybe take her to a stripclub(only if she might have fantasies about women) it can be very erotic if she is into that... get ur feelin good with some drinks not wasted though..then take her home watch the movie and play.....if she isnt the type for the stripclub then go buy a lovers board game. you can get em at spencers.

No big deal. Send the kids to your parents to stay the night for starters. Take her out for dinner in an exotic restaurant even if it means spending your rent or mortgage. :). After the dinner, take a walk in the park together. While you are at that, ask her things that she would have wanted to buy for herself if you guys were $1m richer by a stroke of luck. When you get home, give her a shower and a massage. After that, her world is yours. Enjoy.

Make the evening ALL about her, either take her out to a romantic resturant for dinner, or make a romantic dinner for you 2, candle lit. Draw a bath for her, put rose petals in the tub. If your tub is big enough, take a bath together. Just make it special and all about her. Those little things like that will mean alot to her, and could really set the mood for you both.

Do whatever is the last thing that she expects you to do--whatever it is that she's asked you over and over to do but you have never done. That's sexy.
When my husband does something I like that is out of character, I find it an incredible turn-on!
For your wife, this may be you cooking a meal yourself. Or it may be taking her to a restaurant where you can't use coupons! There has to be something.

There are books with chapters on such issues - The Act of Marriage, by Tim a Beverly LaHay comes to mind.
But, communication is the best place to start. Ask her what she would like to try and let her know what you like. Maybe there is a fair compromise, too.
