If u have can u help explain how Rainey gets healed through out the book, using none western medicine?

It is interesting because Rainy is healed though what she goes through is often terrible, at least in our way of thinking. She is healed, however, be accepting life as it is and not how she wants it to be. She is healed in being willing to open herself to life and the world surrounding her. In a sense, using non-Western medicine may be a bit extreme, because Western medicine is about far more than just pills in bottles, it's also about life and love and faith and happiness.
