They're all aggresssive and fin nippers, some are just worse than others. You can check this website to see about the species you might find in stores, but in general, it wouldn't be a good idea to mix them with other fish. Some also need brackish or marine conditions, and this may be more salt than the other fish (especially the angel) would tolerate: http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/ug.php/v/PufferPedia/

The South American is one of the less aggressive species, but even these should be kept as a single species - they just tolerate others of their own kind, so they can be kept as a school - something not all puffers will do.

The South American puffer is considered suitable for a community tank, keep them in a group of 3-5 and there should be no problems.

I have seen them live in community tanks with Tangs and a Wrasse, and they were not aggressive.

However they seem to be fin nippers. Angelfish might end up being defenseless. Guppies are too small. Anything smaller than a puffer fish, will end up it's dinner.

all of them are aggressive who ever said they arnt was completely wrong. When they are small they shy away from other bigger fish, but when adult they should be in salt water and will bite at all your fishes. Including other puffers.
