My doctor told me to take aderol (Don't know if i spelled that right) Which is a type of speed. It's because i can't concentrate in class.. currently in highschool. Anyways is it bad for me? Or will it effect me later in life? If so please let me know! It does help yes, but i can help myself to it will just be alot harder, and i'd rather help myself the hard way if this is going to effect me later in my life.

I'm 25 years old and I took Adderall for about 2 1/2 years in High School. It did help a lot while I was on it, however it seem like when it wore off in the late afternoon I would kind of get a little bit moody. Which was pretty much the only bad side effect (mood swings) I had from taking it. What you have to think about is this.... even if the adderall helps you with your school and your day to day life, you have to ask yourself....do I want to take this the rest of my life? I can also say that the adderall worked really good the first year, but by the end of the following year, it wasn't nearly as affective.
My advice to you is this, take it for now, while your still in school, and I think you can benefit from it a lot, however I wouldn't take it for over a couple of years. I think if you take it for many of years it can cause significant health problems. I've been off it for years now, and I feel a lot better than I used too, I still have a lot of ADD symptoms now but I have learned to deal with them better as I've gotten older.

This is a drug that makes you opposite. What i mean is that if you are realy hyper, you'll be reletively mellow, and vice versa. Obviously an overdose can have major side effects. I'm guessing that if your say...realy melow, and you were to overdose, you would propbebly run the risk of an accelerated heart rate, which could lead to an injury. I'm sure there are some side effects for the othere way around, but doctors wont give anything to you that has any direct (by direct i mean by taking it, it is bad for you) bad results. I think you might want to talk to your doctor about taking it while excercising, but besides that i don't think so. you can research the prescription version of the drug online, that would by MY first stop.

Low doses of amphetamines such as you are talking about do seem to help people a lot. Many people use this type of drug for a period of time and then find out that they do not need it any more. There are of course side effects to any drug. And there is always the possibility of a long term effect that we do not know about right now. However, I would not hesitate to give it to a grand kid if a good doc thought they needed to take it.

HELLO,
ADDERALL HAS SOME UNDESIRED EFFECTS AND ABUSE OF IT IS THE WORST OF ALL. ONCE SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS IN H.S. FIND OUT YOU GOT IT THEY'LL TRY TO BUY SOME FROM YOU.
IT'S A CLASS 2 DRUG AND HAS A HIGH ABUSE POTENTIAL. IF CONCENTRATING IS A PROBLEM FOR YOU THERE ARE OTHER NON-PHARMACEUTICAL METHODS OF TREATING THIS.
