I accidently deleted most of the stuff on my mac and don't have the CD to reboot it. (read details below)?

Does anyone know another operating system I can use to work on my mac with . I tried a linux OS but I don't know how to do it. It says the application cannot be opened because the application program that created it cannot be found. ( it says that when I download a Linux OS and try to use it on the mac. The mac is an imac G3 333mhz with i think 128mb and I think either a 6gb or 8gb HD.

If you can go on line to the Macintosh website you should be able to download or order a new master disk for your computer.
