Some of the old character actors would play many different parts over the course of a series. Many times in the same season. A random example would be the wide variety of parts various Korean actors/ess protrayed in MASH. Many weren't even Korean but natives of other Asian countries. That was back during the days where we didn't focus on the reality of the show but just enjoyed being entertained. GOOD QUESTION
