Let's see, your Mom keeps a roof over your head, feeds you, clothes you, does your laundry, drives you here and there, pays the light bill, school books, the Internet bill, the heat bill, gives you allowance, etc, etc, etc. As long as she is doing these things she can not get in to any kind of trouble. This money is not for you to spend on jewelry or goodies or movies, it is meant for providing necessities for you. And I am sure it costs her more than the amount the check from SS is for. I think your mom needs to start showing you what it costs to live and pay the bills. Once you are 18 unless you are in school the SS will stop for you.

If you are a child, she has a right to use your check as it is meant to support you, not to be spent by you while she tries to make ends meet.

I don't know what type of Social Security you get, but you or your mother is disabled, or you have a father who is deceased.

If you are an adult, this does not apply! But then you don't get SSI for the death of a parent unless you are a child!

Do the checks come in her name and is she your guardian? If that is the case, she's doing what she's supposed to. On the other hand ... Are you 18? If you are 18, then contact the social security office and ask them how you can get the checks in your name.
