When i stand on the kick starter to start the bike it just goes all the way down to the bottom and does not catch
im thinking a seal but i dunno which one
its a yamaha yz490

Either low / no compression - remove the L crankcase cover (don't worry, there's no oil) and move the kick start. The flywheel will move if the kick starter is working. If it moves - top end damage (cylinder, piston & rings).
OR
Kick start spindle is damaged.
Kick start idler gear damaged.
Clutch gears damaged.
Primary gears damaged.
Prinmary gear is loose / sheared the key on the crankshaft.
You'll have to drain the oil, remove the R crankcase cover and inspect everything.

sounds like no compression. if you have had the bike for awhile and not done the top end then more than likely that is probably what it will need .

no compression. dont know whats causing it could be a seal. but google it see what you find.

I would have to say no Compression.
That's caused by, bad piston rings, bad piston.. bad head/cylinder, bad spark plug hole.
see if you have any coolant left, I often see that that is gone, becasue it could leak, and make a hole...
