When I was in High School we had to choose a poet to dramatise in any creative way. My partner and I chose Poe, putting him on trial for the murder in the Tell Tale Heart. The school mate playing the part of Poe stroked a stuffed raven that we'd borrowed from the biology department will he was 'on the stand' answering his charges. We got an A+. It was great.
Yes, I'm a Poe fan. His poetry and stories are haunting. He is an American treasure.

I actually do love him. He was a deranged man but he was a great writer who knew how to express himself in great ways. I love reading his stories they are pretty good.
