Great question! I thought of this one myself a few years ago. The answer I was given was similar to one of your answers listed here...that there were indeed other people created after Adam and Eve...God didn't just throw out one pair of birds, lions, plants, trees, either... The Bible doesn't give all the details...just the basics of the story of the Beginning with Adam and then Eve and their kids, and so on.
And as far as the answerer that stated evolution can be 'proved'...well, it can to a degree...obviously everything on earth has changed/evolved over time and with different climates and such. But, the actual FACTS or "proof" of the evolution theory (that we all came from apes) does keep changing...NOW the evolution theory is that we all (humans and every other living creature) came from the same single cell organism, then we became fish, then land animals, then apes, then humans (but there are still some apes out there huh? THEY haven't evolved yet or what?). So, your proof of an evolutionary specific theory is just that ---still, a "THEORY". A "theory" is by definition NOT a FACT or PROOF by any sense.
Sorry to get off topic...yeah, this should've been under 'religion'.
Anyway, take care! Keep living, learning, and growing!

The Bible does not give us a specific number. Adam and Eve had Cain (Genesis 4:1), Abel (Genesis 4:2), Seth (Genesis 4:25), and many other sons and daughters (Genesis 5:4). With likely hundreds of years of child-bearing capability, Adam and Eve likely had 50+ children in their lifetime.

that's why its kinda confusing me and makes me doubt that if there is a god and if all of these stories are true, I think that we are all supposed to be the kids of Adam and Eve, so if that's the case then how come there are so many different races of people, if adam was black and eve was white then how come there are asians. BTW, my friend is arabian and he's a muslim and in his religion its the same thing as the christian as far as Adam and Eve story goes.

Adam and eve is a story to teach us about sin, modern day Catholics don't believe that that's the way everything started, the bible was written by men, not directly by God, so don't doubt Him doubt the truth in the book, but everything in the bible is for us to learn smth from not necessarily the pure truth

The story of Adam and Eve is the story of childhood.

When we are children we are in Paradise. Everything is taken care of. We name animals and toys as per our whim.

When we become adults we must make decisions. We become responsible for those decisions. We are no longer in Paradise but cast out into the wilderness, to make our way as we can.

Cain, Abel, these are but symbols.

You should probably ask this in the religious section. I don't believe that adam and eve story, I believe in evolution which can be proved.
