He fell of a curb awkwardly and can't walk on his leg. Just above the knee there is a medium sized bump and it's causing him alot of pain? Anyone know what is wrong?

Well If it hurts near where the lump is then he has done somthing to the Femur (largest bone in body).

Compare the place of injury to the opposite leg and then if there is a vast difference in size due to any swelling, then seek medical advice.

It better to feel an idiot and finding out there is nothing wrong, than causing further injury to it.

He could have dislocated his knee a bit. Tell him to keep icepacks on it, to take Motrin for the swelling and pain, and to wear a knee brace for several weeks. He may also need to see a Physical Therapist for strengthening exercises so this won't happen again.

you need to go to the hospital if its a minor chip or something anywhere near the knee he could go into shock if it keeps swelling. There are main nerves near there and you need a doctor at least to prescribe an anti inflamitory

this does sound like a dislocated knee. You need to get him to an emergency room as soon as possible. he is going to have to have his knee put back into place and probably have to have a cast .
