No you can`t . If your 6 volt battery doesn`t explode first, you will fry just about anything electrical on the mower. use a 6/12 volt battery charger and recharge or replace your 6 v0lt battery

If you are two person together and have an automotive battery that is six volt witch some are still around you can!!!!!!
Here goes; One; the 12 volt can be attached to the 6 volt not for to long a period as you will fry it.

From the 6 volt automotive which has to be less than 150 cold crank amp still can be attached to your lawn mower battery for no less or more than 20 SECONDS at the time;
Any longer than that you burn the armature in your Starter of the mower ending up with a Nice Bill; 1 Bat, & one Start.

Careful do not mix the terminals.

RED To red WHICH IS POSITIVE & Black to black which is negative.
Attach the jumper cable to the dead battery (L Mower)positive to positive (YOUR SIX VOLT ) Then negative from the (Your SIX VOLT) to your mower last to prevent Hydrogen gases to escape wich is ("highly explosive') and very dangerous. If you are carefull you can do it!!!!!!

If in doupt do not touch nothing buy yourself. A New battery is cheaper than a Hospital Bill>

A bad idea. Try four standard size 1.5 volt batteries (C or D) in series and it may work and you won't hurt anything. For pictures check here http://www.zbattery.com/seriesparallel.html

If you are going to attempt this you will need to hook just your positive cable to your six volt battery hook your negative cable to your frame on your lawn mower do not hook them both to your six volt battery or boom!

no you can't. I hope its not too late! Some battery chargers/trickle chargers can do both with the flip of a switch. If the battery is old just buy a new one. Take it to auto parts store and they can test it to see if its good. One or more of the cells could be bad.
