I don't think Bush appreciates the workings of democracy. He seems to think the U.S. is his personal satrap, and no other opinions matter. All this secrecy and "shadow government" stuff, in light of the scandals, makes me think he and his top officials are covering up something even worse. I don't trust him and I don't like him. I haven't liked ONE THING he's done - it's like he's tapped my phone, and he does whatever he knows I won't like. It couldn't have gone that way by accident, could it?

Oh yeah - then there's his complete lack of humility, which is unbecoming in a leader, and even more in a person who has so much to be humble for. His macho act presents a bad example to the rest of the world, and it certainly has not improved our relations with foreign countries or their people. What's up with that, anyway?

I really can't decide if I consider Bush a failure or not. I really want to believe he tried to do what was best for our country. I think people want someone to blame when something bad happens, and our president is a perfect target. I wish 9/11 had never happened, but it did and we can't do anything to change that. I just think that if that hadn't happened people wouldn't hate Bush so much. I also believe that if we had another president the outcome would be pretty much the same. We will never have a president that can make everyone happy especially in a time like this. People would have complained if we hadn't gone to war after 9/11, and now they are complaining because its lasting so long. war is a bad thing no matter what the reason is for starting it. I'm just not sure the outcome would have been any different if we had another president.

Total mishandling of the Iraq war. Not listening to his generals in the planning stage who estimated we would need at least 300,000 to 500,000 troops to take and occupy Iraq. Instead he fired them. And the key word here is occupy!

Next not putting the clamp on his Robber Baron buddies in the oil industry. Look at the gas prices now! That also includes heating oil and natural gas. Also raises the cost of electricity along with everything else.

Destroying the middle class almost completely. Leaving the country with predominately only two classes. An Upper (rich class) and a lower (poor class) class. Turning the country into basically a third world country as a result.

No two term president could be considered a complete failure, by definition. While I support the war, and supported the invasion of Iraq, and believe we should support him, it appears it was in fact a mistake and that will dominate his legacy. But history is funny, the way it can reverse course and what is seemingly true in fact is not. Truman was hated as he left office, but today is revered as a very good president who candidates try to compare themselves to. It may turn out to be the case that to take our forces into the Middle East and fight these insurgents who poured into Iraq after the initial operation was complete, will turn out to be a positive move that has saved America from further attacks. We have killed multiple thousands, tens of thousands of insurgents/terrorists that would be roaming the world free if not for our forces there.

He's far too feeble minded to understand the issues much less have anything to contribute to the solution! In fact he makes things worse by his continual blocking of possible solutions. He has yet to testify under oath without dick holding his hand, thus he has absolutely no credibility or integrity what so ever! He has broken so many international laws, federal laws and just defied what it means to be an ethical, just and moral person to be thought of in any other way!

I think he started off much better, but over time, seems to have lost his leadership. He seems unbelievable & without credibility now, and more like a puppet leader than someone sincerely being his own man, at times. He also seems more stubborn & out of touch with even his own base, now.
He needs to get in touch, do what is right & shrug off the compulsion to cave to pressure from various interest lobbies while listening with his heart to the american people.

Intestinal fortitude makes him great.Remember Rudyard Kipling's poem"If". " If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you.........then you will be a man ,my son."Unlike those that go where the wind blows,he stands on his beliefs.
