As a die hard Steelers fan, I have to say that there is no other team i fear playing more than the Ravens! And it's not because of there offense! Ray Lewis, despite what kind of guy he may or may not be is a tremendous athlete and leader. He is the heart and soul of that defense and team. I dont think that he statistically he will be better than he has ever been. But he is a veteran and still very imposing. Seriously there is no more feared linebacker out there than Lewis. I think that the Ravens, and i hope im wrong have a serious shot at winning it all this year. And depending on the year Lewis has, will help to decide the outcome of there season!

Lewis is getting older and to be honest, I saw him touch several players last year AFTER they were already tackled and he was credited with a half tackle or tackle. He has been given the benefit of that many times. He may be in great shape, but the season is very long and I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss at least a couple of games with a nagging injury or two.

I believe Ray Lewis will return to Pro Bowl/possibly All Pro form again this year, but i dont think he can produce and play like he did in his Prime. at one point Ray Lewis as an absolute beast, averging almost 160 tackles a year. Regardless of what shape he's in, age catches up in terms of physical skills. Although his mind is still as sharp as ever and that could overshadow his downside. He is still one of the best linebackers in the game and i believe will have another pro bowl season, but as far as being better than any point in his career, i dont think he can overtake his former self.

For all of the people who say Ray Lewis is past his prime and overrated, i have never seen such a bunch of people who are more wrong. Ray Lewis is still one of the best linebackers in the entire NFL and without a doubt the most intimidating. He is the leader of one of the best defenses in the NFL and won't stop until he gets another Super Bowl ring.

Ray Lewis is getting older... honestly I think his best days are behind him. So he lost a little weight, that's just gonna make him easier to run over. I'm not ragging on him or anything, I'm just stating fact. Ray Lewis has slumped a lot in the past years and I really just think that losing the weight wasn't as good as everyone thinks it is.

As long as they keep the right defensive scheme. Lewis doesn't work well out of the 3-4. The 4-3 or 4-6 (Bear defense) are better for him.

When the Raven D was dominating it was more because they had some great DTs in front of Ray that would engage the OL and keep them off of the LBs. That was when Ray was at his best, free to roam and run down RBs. What have they done to shore up that DL?

The AFC North is getting younger and tougher, and Ray Lewis has peaked years ago. The fact that he has to talk about and isn't showing it tells you something, doesn't it? If this is the case, he should prove it through his play, because actions speak louder than words.
