Culture and politics are not very closely related (well they're not completely unrelated in countries whose governments condemn or condone certain cultures).

I'm not into politcs very much but I simply add this: personally I'm really fed up with all the words and uses coming from America and American English in general.
I'm working at a new dictionary at the moment (English-Italian, Italian- English) and, believe it or not, I'll try to avoid all "Americanisms" I can!!! I'll leave them apart as much as I can, taking into consideration mainly pure Received English/Biritish English, which is where the language started.
OF COURSE I'll include the common words, both BRITISH and AMERICAN BUT I'll try to avoid those which are SIMPLY "too American" and most people would not understand! Now I suppose what I meant is clear and nobody will have to worry!!

The people of the world are mighty tired of America dominating everything. All they create is a lust for materialism and many countries are in social turmoil trying to match the capitalist dream. The Murricans especially likes to point the finger at Germany and Japan as warmongers, but how many wars has Murrica been in since it's inception? The history begins with a war, then they fight against farmers who don't like the whiskey tax. The Korean and Vietnam Wars were both needless and interfered with due political processed in other countries.
Is Murrica God? They seem to think so.

People need to express themselves and not always does it have to be for the reason they form and protest. The cumulative psychosis of social mass touching in upon some of those repressed instincts and finding a way to get out and all that is missing is some fall guy like the president who has to make some tough decisions and stick with it.

They don't consider the government and the people to be one and the same.

Garden, if you're writing a dictionary, you pretty much HAVE to include the commonly used terms. Maybe you shouldn't be writing it? This is from a fluent speaker of standard Italian, by the way.

I am not great on political talk so I will say it this way, not everyone is going to be liked; it's as easy as that.
