Japantown in San Francisco or LA is close.

Also in San Diego there's an area in Clairemont Mesa - Convoy St. that is filled with Asian restaurants and stores...

But as far as similar to Tokyo, you may need to expand what you mean by that. I lived in Tokyo for 6 years, and it's a lot like downtown L.A. or any major metropolitan city, just with less Japanese people. :)

Not really. Tokyo is very high density and clean. LA is very spread out, low density. San Francisco is high density but dirty, unlike Tokyo.
