These gang bangers are killing innocent people left and right, I thank the police for the job they're doing, but it's an overwhelming job. When does the general public take up ARMS and start fighting this war being imposed on us. Should these gang bangers start dieing left and right?

Your question reflects an immature view of the world. Are you really proposing that everyone go around armed and on a hair trigger? It might make the world harder for gang-bangers but it would also make it more exciting for them: don't they live for the thrill of a good fight?
In the meantime, it would make the world much more dangerous for the rest of us--irritations that now result only in raised fingers would instead start bullets flying. In a world where the bystanders are also armed and ready, pitched battles could be started over the most trivial of provocations.
You might want to live in a wild west movie, but most of us prefer things the way they are.

The inability of law enforcement to secure our neighborhoods is leading us in this direction. That's not a criticism of Law Enforcement, they do what they can with the limited resources available to them.
Soon, Americans from all walks of life will say "Enough is enough!" and take back their neighborhoods and cities from the thugs and lowlifes.
I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often already.
Stand up with your neighbors and show these scumbags that you aren't afraid of them. You WILL talk to the Police to help them do their job.
Vigilante justice is a dangerous path but may become the only effective path.

Never. You would be a vigilante just like they view themselves to be.
You, and they, are innocent until PROVEN guilty. By a court. Shooting people in revenge killings would very very quickly get out of hand, and you would become just as violent and dangerous to society as they are.

This sort of thing is most prevalent in cities where using a gun for self defense is strictly prohibited. Liberals would much rather see you on the ground twitching to death , then let you own a gun.
