Teenage boys don't like getting fashion advice from their moms. I definitely didn't.

Does he have an older brother, cousin, uncle or friend he likes or admire? My mom finally gave up and asked her brother, my favourite uncle, to take me shopping. I've always liked him and thought he was the coolest guy ever and I bought whatever he suggested--even though it was the same things my mom had recommended!

Good luck!

I don't know why people think kids have to have "COOL BRAND NAME" clothes to be awesome. Seriously give me a break. I have worn NO NAME BRANDS for 21 years and nobody has looked at my clothes going "OMG OMG! You got your clothes at WALMART, DEB, JCPENNY, OMG! LOSER!!" It's what I pick out attracts people. My bf's in the past (and a couple gf's) wore nice jeans (for guys, don't show u'r crack or u'r underwear..we don't need to see that...) and a nice top. It doesn't matter if the shirt is all gray, all white, or has writing which states "I'm like this to drive you crazy...". Just buy nice fitting clothes, and make sure he's clean. Buying cologne is a nice touch too. Women like a guy smelling "sexy" and she knows he takes care of himself. Some women now a days like guys who wear chains, have blue hair, pierced ears and kind of long hair but in my opinion thats just sloppy. Get up in the morning, put some clothes on you wore a couple days ago and go to school. *shakes head* Not good. Find some simple clothes and put them on him (TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!), if he has a GIRL friend (a girl who is a friend...) bring her along shopping and have her say "yes" or "no" to clothing options. That will work out great, I do this with my fiance a couple times a year. I even did it this morning b4 he went to a wedding, I told him I didn't like the pants he was wearing so I picked out different ones and he left looking good.

I wish you good luck, and don't buy $100.00 jeans or $50.00 shirts when you can get the same quality and color in a $30.00 pair of jeans or $15.00 shirt.

A NAME BRAND WILL NOT MAKE YOUR SON WELL-DRESSED!

He can come out of any of the aforementioned stores and still look bland or, even worse, silly. If you can't offer your son any styling tips, then I suggest you get him a copy of Details, Esquire, Men's Vogue, etc. and let him figure out which looks he likes. Then he should go shopping with an idea of what he wants to buy; he'll only get frustrated otherwise. He doesn't need to show any sort of brand loyalty unless there's a salesperson in one store who really knows how to dress and how to dress other people. If he should find someone willing to style him WELL in any of the stores he visits, that should be the store he frequents the most.

I've never cared about brands as long as a guy is tidy and clean i'm not bothered but others may be i supposee so heres my advice
well there are some brand names associated with different music and people I don't know if you've heard of this 'chav' name but they wear sports brands while skaters wear vans

i don't like sports brands and never have vans is a good brand but is usually only worn by fans of rock, metal, punk music and skaters

fashionably challenged? just buy him jeans that be ok and some slogan tops maybe?
take a look at gindstore.com or attitudeclothing.co.uk they may help but its all the rock scene/ skater scene again tshirtgrill.com has some cool tees

Let him find his way in the clothes business. You can suggest all you can but remember this. You are his mom. Augh. Your mom told you to buy that? How uncool is that, even if the clothes are truly great. Some kids still think that anything their parents suggest is untouchable. Check his friends out. Be friends with one of them or all of them. Then what YOU say may be cool to them and therefore acceptable to your son eventually.
Sorry but this is the generation gap.

well, being a high school student, a lot of the popular boys and girls dress from A&F, Hollister, American Eagle, and Aeropostale...all preppy styles
girls often go for the guys who dress like that
so let him kno that ...again

I love LRG but that is really expensive. Try Tillys. They have good stuff too. Theres a store called Workmens and i absolutely love that store but I think that theres only a few stores around. One is San Jose, one in Las Vegas and I think one in LA.
