I think how people rag on the 26 year old may be a better indication of where our country is spiritually than her apparent lifestyle or claim to fame is of our society's values. These rants only show how gullible & ignorant most people are: Do you know her, anything about her character, or nature, or spirit—if I may—other than what you read or see on the television? Instead, you pass judgment, as though you are & have always been a perfect example of humanity. And may I add as a side note, given her wealth, would you become a humanitarian, travel to third world nations, devote your sweat, deny yourself the newest hybrid Lexus models? Are you near enough to perfect?
To conclude all this, maybe she is as bratty as the simple life episodes, tabloids, the smug radio & news personalities portray—but I'd rather invest my energies on something more useful than ranting about how better I am than some kid, & leave judgment for god, or someone with similar values & consciousness.

What would you conclude about her character after her porn video hit the i-net? What would you conclude about her character after multiple DUI's? What would you conclude about her character if on one day she says boldly that she is going to do her time in jail(lie about having the option of going to a pay facility) and then start pulling all the theatrics to get out way early and then throw a hissy fit when she has to go back even though she just said 5 days earlier she was ready to do her time? You really just don't get it do you?

Whereas I have seen many answers pertaining to Paris Hilton, I cannot recall any wherein the answerer tried to claim he/she was better than Hilton. Most people have simply commented that she should be expected to pay the penalty for her breaking of the law without any consideration being given to her wealth/fame which are, in a law enforcement context, totally irrelevant

I don't know...it seems to be an American pastime. Kick someone while they are down. I am not a fan of hers by any means. I hate to see someone...anyone go down like that.
Crying in handcuffs in the back of a police car? Poor girl. Even if she did something to deserve it...I am still sad for her.
What if it were your daughter? Or sister? Or best friend? Or you? Would you be saying the same? How would you feel about people who did? I would want people to understand. She is still a person...a fellow human being and child of God.
She has my prayers.

People rant about her because she contributes nothing to society. She broke the law by driving a motor car under the influence of alcohol and she expects special treatment because he happens to come from a wealthy family. If anyone else had done what she did, they would have been jailed without so much as a second thought. In America, the rule of law is to apply to ALL citizens equally. Justice is supposed to be blind so when we see certain people recieve UNEQUAL treatment, it makes many of us mad. It breaks our faith in the criminal justice system. If she had hit a little kid and killed him/her while driving under the influence maybe peopel would view this situaction differently.

She is a rich person. Us poor people love seeing such people fall and face the same crap with have to face on a daily basis or suffer just as hard or if not harder as we do when we screw up and misbehave.
As the old saying goes, nothing delights a slave more then to see the fall of his master.

People don't really waste there lives talking about her! The media does it cuz they think it interests the public, people complain because they are sitting around and one subject leads to another! and finally...stars get better off treatment than we do! it shows how many people have gotten out of being in jail because they were celebutonts! Well people have rights to complain, especially about that!
im just sharing my opinion, and for that matter...several other people i know

You know what? She was convicted of drunken driving. In my book, that puts her in the same class as murderers; in her case, no victims managed to stray into her drunken path. That's fortunate for her - she's only doing 45 days instead of 30 years for vehicular manslaughter.
She is pond scum.

Because we human beings love to take potshots at and kick those who are in pain and or in unfortunate circumstances. It is even better if they were once on top. Simply put we are a most cruel species.

You're right just because the T.V. said she was arrested for DUI and then again for driving on suspended license we shouldn't believe it. How could I have been so gullible.
