This is not a good idea. If things do not go well with your boyfriend, you will have a difficult time, as any illegal work is long hours, very poor wages and no rights at all against anything. The reality of this is not romantic. London can be a tough place to live and work at the best of times. Don't break the law. Prepare properly and do it right.

You have just announced to hundreds of thousands of people all over the world that you believe the law doesn't apply to you. Welcome to our forum, Paris Hilton!
Seriously. 'Get you into trouble'? It depends what you mean by 'trouble'. Deportation? A criminal record? Then yes, it will get you into trouble. But it's not 'they' who are doing it. You are doing it yourself.
These are not childhood games here. You are talking loudly about breaking international law. You may find some illegal menial work where you will be ill paid and exploited - people who hire illegal workers are not too concerned about fair treatment. British immigration control and police know the places where illegal workers are hired, and make raids. You will be told to leave the country with no notice, and not allowed back in.
And why, oh why, do you think for one minute that the incredibly secure United States border controls will allow you into the U.S.A. with an expired passport? Unbelievable.
I strongly suggest you DON'T. Either do things legally, or not at all.

I wouldn't do this. In the UK, they need to see your passport and visa to get any job, including waitresses and many low wage jobs.
If you try to re-enter the USA with an expired passport, there is a very good chance that you will not be allowed to re-enter. More than likely, you'll probably be detained at the border, as DHS looks closely at passports and are very strict about this sort of thing. The stamp doesn't matter, as you could have been traveling a lot during that period of time, and Europe has many open borders. It's the expiration that will get you in trouble. You have time, and it won't take as long to get your passport renewed.
If the authorities find you working illegally, you'll be deported. And it can happen. I knew of an international student who worked more than the allowed 20 hours per week, and he got deported. A mark of deportation goes in you passport, and it will hinder your ability to re-enter the UK, let alone get a job there.
You have time. Look into getting a BUNAC card, which allows young people to work in the UK for a period of time. Or try to get a work permit in the UK. Exhaust all your legal options before even attempting to find work as an illegal immigrant.

If you have a few months this means you can get a new, valid passport and obtain a visa. We have enough illegal immigrants here be they American, Asian, African or European and what you're planning to do is highly irresponsible. Also, for any job applications, they will need to see you work permit, and your passport and another form of ID to prove you can work here. Minus those, you'll have no job and no money. We have enough illegal immigrants and I'm not going to give advice on how to get another.

The jews were fighting Jews and when this was over, they all went across the street and hit the Palestinians with firearms and grenades. They also destroyed 8 Palestinian cars too! I feel so good that I had to leave Israel behind me, people! I don't hate the Arabs I just wanted to do some business with them. Not kill them. Shalom!
