liberationists have subdued chivarly to a degree in men generally. I was asked by a woman a few years ago on public transport , why I stood for her, if it was because she was a woman , she virtually accused me of being a deviant, and said no because I am a gentleman.

I like chivalry, sorry that it does seem to be a thing of the past. I also have seen women turn seats down that were offered by men, but I have also seen very pregnant women stand and no man offered her a seat, but a woman did.

I believe in chivalry..Just because you hold open a door or give up a seat doesn't mean you don't beleive in equal rights....

I think it's sad that you have to stop and think before you do something polite. I for one appreciate someone holding doors for me, giving up their seat, etc.!
