This dude asked me to spot him, when it's clear he doesn't need any help lifting.

What's the deal?

Safety.

You should always have a spotter.

u ain't been around bodybuilders much have u?

U get a spotter so u don't screw yourself up man. It's like assurance. If u are liftin heavy, u can start out strong, but u weaken after a few reps, but u wanna push the limit. Sometimes tho u push too hard and just can't make the last rep. The spotter keeps u from gettin pinned under the weight man.

Without the spotter u don't wanna push as hard for fear of droppin it on yourself man.

I ask guys to spot me all the time that I don't know. Most are glad to do it. And i've got asked to spot someone tonnes of times. It aint nothin man.

It's always important to have a spotter no matter how experienced or strong you are.

I have seen people randomly ask someone if they could spot them. I work out often and I've had guys and girls help me from time to time. Althought I mostly use the treadmil and the weight machines rather than bench :)

Yes, they ask to be spotted for the reason of if they tire from too many reps, they may need assistance. It's better to be safe than sorry.

So that if the weight accidentally falls, you will be there to help him from dying. Even the strongest guy can have trouble sometimes.
