Would we be racists if we had our own, White television network? Or an all White college? Or our own White history month?

I'm not white, but it appears to me that there are a lot of minorities who are pitted against the "whites" which is just as sad and unacceptable. I personally don't believe that having a white television network or all white college or white history month is racist depending on the content or context. If a racial organization was spreading a message of their superiority, everybody should be concerned and alarmed regardless of whether that organization is white. If the world really believed that all humans are equal, there should be no group of people banned from organizing their own network, university, or day of celebration EVEN with bad history. Ofcourse rules and regulations must be followed; In any organized group, event, or idea to celebrate something, no one should be banned from contribution due to their race. It would be a different story if yellow, red, blue people couldn't celebrate white, orange, green history month because they themselves are not. There is also the option of banning any organized group that only celebrates a certain race, but that's not a current reality so I won't explore the topic. However, if there currently are any networks, colleges, or calendar days where a certain race is banned from watching, applying/accepting, celebrating, or contributing to... support need to be stopped. Shame on everyone and anyone who succumb to racial insecurities and lash out; being a minority does not exempt you from racist actions, shame on you. So to answer your question, it depends on the intent and content; if it's positive/nuetral, then no it's not racist. I don't believe that whites should be banned from doing the things you mentioned. It's not about equality for minorities, it's about equality for all humanity.

Yes. And a lot of black people seem to be racist because theres BET, Jet Magazine, United ***** College Fund, etc. etc. etc. Not to mention the equal opportunity law where black women get first shot. But if white people did it thered be an uproar. I mean come on, slavery and everything happened hundreds of years ago and people are still using that as an argument.

I watch alot of tv and @ least 92% of it is white on damn near every network. I cant even watch B.E.T. without Fergie, and Eminem videos. I might add that B.E.T. is owned by Viacom now (cant get much whiter than that) Dont get me started on history month. When I was in school they taught us about blacks for 2 weeks in Feb and the rest of the year I had 2 hear about American(WHITE)History. If I was 2 answer your question I would say u dont have 2 be racist 2 have those thoughts but u damn sure have 2 be greedy

No but a black television network isn't limited to only blacks and neither are colleges nor black history month. It only becomes racism when a certain ethnic group is excluded from certain practices. With all the hell that black people went through in this country i think it's the least that America can do to sweep 200 years of oppression under the rug. Now I dont exactly believe in taking "pride" in one's race because when it comes down to it, we are all humans. No race should have the right to think they're better than any other. However, I dont see having an organization geared towards one race is racism. It's fair.

"NO! NO! NO! We can't cause that is racist!"
But, blacks can cause it is a double standard and most blacks are racist and practice double standards.
So, yes, we would be racist but not blacks because they can get away with a double standard.

Yeah, we should all do away with stuff like that. No Gay Pride parade, no Cindo De Mayo, No fourth of July, no anything. Poor World we would have nothing to celebrate or fight over.
