I work at a dealership, and I am always getting calls and questions about how to do this, or what does this mean on my car?
All this information is listed in the owners manual and if you read it you wont have ask.

Cause like everything else.. It's easier for people to be shown it than have to (yahn) read it in a big book that to them is so hard to follow....

Ethol, Where I'm at, usually the sales people refer it to service where we have to explian it and 9/10ths of the time actually do it for the people.... programming key fobs and turning off oil change lights takes at least a hour or two out of my week.. both things in the owners manual...

But I agree, we wouldn't be where we are without it on here (by not sending them the owners manual and where to find it..)

Hey! Hey ! Hey! Hey!
Don't tell people to read their owners manuals! LOL !

If it were not for the fact that people don't read their manuals.....I wouldn't have a 65% Best Answer ratio!

I LOVE those questions that can easily be found in an owners manual! LOL again!

And the phone calls that you get at the dealership.....just another opportunity to touch base with a previous customer.
THIS IS A GOOD THING!

Guess what ? Being helpful to customers.......IT'S PART OF THE JOB!
It gets you MORE SALES!

THIS TOO, is a good thing !

Take the negative attitude & turn it into a positive OPPORTUNITY !
This is one of the things that MAKES a successful auto sales person!

by the way... if you are not in sales at the dealership, I appologize for assuming. If you work in some other capacity at a dealership, you should "buddy-up" with a salesperson & pass those phone calls on to them. Especially if you find them annoying,.....they could be a goldmine to a salesperson.
EDIT***********
I see from your previous Q & A that you are in the service end of the dealership. Again my appology for assuming.
But you should "buddy-up" with a salesperson & refer those calls to them & GET THEM TO GIVE YOU A REFERAL FEE if they make any additional sales from this,
At my dealership the service department can look up the original salesperson of a customer & pass the call or question on to them.

Too much work. They just bought a new car, they don't want to waste time reading their manual they want to drive their car.

Because they know that you understand the manual instructions and they do not.

They don't have the patience and they are too lazy to look it up for themselves. They would rather have someone else do the work for them.

Because they are lazy, and it's easier for them to call & ask stupid questions than to look it up!
