This reminds me of La Mariana in Hawaii. There is this Great Tiki bar on Sand Island and it might be the last Real Tiki bar in the Islands. Sand Island is kind of Isolated and La Mariana serves a small Yacht club there. The Place is all Bamboo and blown up Puffer fish. Gorgeous waitresses and the old Lady that owns the place comes down once a night and greets her guests. The food is just spectacular. With thick and hot Juicy steaks, Ice cold beer and great cocktails.Of course the fish is fresh out of the water every day with old Hawaiian recipe's. There is a small piano bar and I swear that the same guy has been playing that piano for thirty years. The place was built at the beginning of WW2 and really hasn't changed that much. The old Bamboo has a kind of inner glow that only comes with age and care. Its really great and off the beaten tract. Most tourists never find it and if you don't know about it the name kind of throws you off. My choice for the best cafe in the world!!!

Ric's American Cafe in St. Maarten. It wasn't just the food, it was the ambience and views. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

That was 11 years ago, I hope it's still there.
