Here are the ACTUAL reasons, according to information I read daily on comics2film.com, superherohype.com, and comicbookmovie.com:
1. Yes, the next Batman movie is currently being filmed in Chicago as I write, and it is called The Dark Knight. There ARE plans to make the next Superman movie, and Bryan Singer, the director, has stated there WILL be more than 1 super-villain in this one.
2. The movies that ARE scheduled to be made are the following: Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Capt. Marvel (A.K.A. Shazam!). Green Lantern is still up in the air, but I doubt that it would not get made due to this character's popularity.
3. The reason the Wonder Woman movie didn't get off the ground yet is because Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer/director) bowed out awhile ago. He had been attached to it, but decided to drop out. A script has been offered, and Warner Bros. is searching for a director. It is just a matter of short time before this one gets under way.
The Flash is scheduled to be made, but no one has been assigned to it, no script, director, etc. However, once Wonder Woman and Batman and Superman are near completion, look for this to be in production.
Capt. Marvel has an actor interested in the role. Dwayne Johnson (or whatever his name is) the guy known as The Rock from WWE Wrestling, etc. , has expressed a keen interest in playing Capt. Marvel. There is a script, and a director who wants to do it, but nothing has been released information wise.
Also, the director behind "300" Zack Bell, is scheduled to direct the movie version of the Classic DC Graphic Novel "Watchmen". This will be a MAJOR event for those of us who are comic book geeks. He is currently involved in one more movie, then he WILL do Watchmen he has been interviewed and quoted as saying.
Take into consideration this: The Warner Bros. studios are PURPOSELY releasing little tidbits of info here and there to create buzz about the DC comics properties. They know many people will flock to see the movies.
Regarding the poster about the Superman/Batman movie known as "World's Finest", this idea got canned. It was a consideration, but this idea got shelved. You can verify by the sources I mentioned.
Marvel HAS helped garner interest in comic books as movies, but, remember, it was Superman and Batman first who got the ball rolling many years ago. It has only been recently due to the advances in special effects that more movies are getting made.

Which DC heroes would you put in a film?
Other than Superman & Batman (done) and Wonder Woman (in production) they aren't really as well known.
And unfortunately "Smallville" and the Justice League animated series have already introduced several, so there may be some issues regarding which companies have rights to the characters.
I'd love to see a Green Lantern movie, but for people who don't read comics, it's kinda like "who"? Same with the mystical characters like Captain Marvel, Zatanna and Dr Fate.
Perhaps the Flash, if the studio execs could decide which speedster (Barry, Wally, Bart, even Jesse)
Aquaman? Tough sell- there's a reason Marvel hasn't tried a Namor movie :)
I think another huge problem is DC's multiple character origin resets with the Crisis/Zero Hour etc. have made it hard for screenwriters to decide which storylines to use for a movie.

DC is a little slower out of the Gate....But there is a big reason they are developing the new Batman & Superman simultanously, they will be introducing Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and A new Flash. First things first the second Bats And Supes movie will have an ending leading to a new movie team-up between the two called "Worlds Finest. And then the ultimate goal will be A "Justice League" film. We just have to worry that the Genre' won't die out before then!...Okay!

Have you ever heard the saying"Quality over quantity"?Be patient.DC will get on track, just you wait and see.Meanwhile, let Marvel keep cranking out the movies left and right.Besides the Spiderman films,I really hate to admit it,most of the Marvel movies kind of miss the mark.So keep watching the few DC films that are out there, and look forward to the day when the new ones hit the screen, because when they do,it will be with a bang.
