If people know that they are going to die if they smoke why do they continue to do it?

There isn't a reason other than being addicted. It is a very strong addiction. That's why they spend ton's of money on patches and gums to try and quit. Often they are successful and will turn around and start right back up again - that's how strong of an addiction it really is. If you don't smoke, don't ever start.

Addiction simply.Just as an alcoholic will continue to drink even after a liver problem arises. You obviously never smoked or you would understand.

I had an Aunt who died of Cancer at the young age of 43 and she never smoked or drank. Then I have an Aunt on the other side of the family who smokes like a chimney and drinks everyday and she is 73 years old and as healthy as can be......so I don't know if it is the cigarette that really kills everyone or not!!!!!!!

something to do with there hands, i know people quit smoking & they turn to food, yes its a addiction, but truthfully its better than DRUGS, but the smoke gets EVERYWHERE, on your clothes, & its hard to quit, i DONT smoke, thank goodness, but i talked to friends who does,
