How about the gift of a movie night. You could get him a DVD and some popcorn, and some fuzzy slippers to watch them in.
Or else tickets to the movie theater in town, wrapped up with a box of Raisinettes or something.

How about a selection of different types of chocolate bars and candy from the era when he was a kid. That would be fun and different and maybe he could relive some old memories with you. Guys like chocolate too, although often we think of flowers and chocolates as gifts for women. The men get cheated - ha ha. If your dad hates chocolate, poor man, make up a couple of vouchers that say he can call on you for a 2 hour work session or an all day work session or something more specific - you know your dad...

A movie that he wants. Gift certificates from the mall, resturants, movies. You can do dinner and a movie. Just something general should be grreatly apperciated.

Eddie Bauer has some great knick-knacks. I got my husband a keychain that has a clock and date and compass on it. He loved it.

Does your dad have any hobbies? Maybe you could get him something related to his hobby. Or you could get him a nice shirt for that amount.
