Good morning fellow classmates. Today I am going to speak on, and demonstrate, the joys of eating beans!

(If you can, open a can of beans, empty and wash it, then fill it with confetti. Or if you have a joke and gag store by you, see if they have a can of something that opens and something pops out. As you read the second sentence above, hold up the can of beans and slowly move it from side to side so everyone can see it. After you read the sentence, still holding the can, pause, then open the can and throw out the confetti saying...)

Surprise!

Okay the real subject of my speech is Life’s a Surprise. Life is full of surprises, isn’t it? Surprises by definition are unexpected events in our life. Good surprises are the world tickling us with joy and delight. They make us all excited and bubbly feeling inside. Can you imagine life without surprises? No surprise birthday parties. No surprise Christmas presents. No surprises on your final English grade. Life would be so dull , wouldn’t it? Well, the good news is that we don’t have to wait for surprise to find us. We can add excitement to our own lives by giving surprises to others.

With a good surprise, you can really make someone’s day extra special. A surprise doesn’t have to be costly, or even cost anything at all.. A surprise can be simple as greeting someone with a smile and a friendly “good morning” or a “hello.” Imagine how it would be tomorrow if each one of us gave an unexpected surprise to someone by smiling at them and saying hello. The happiness you give, will be the happiness you receive and that shouldn’t be a surprise!

Now you know what I mean when I say that life is full of surprises. So, let’s welcome the opportunities in life by using our ability to surprise because you never know when you might need a friendly surprise yourself.
