Go to this website: http://www.acersupport.com/notebook/index.html
select your laptop model and select audio driver to recover your sound. Download and install it. It should solve the problem. If not call the acer service center for assistant...
Hope this helps.

go to the bottom right hand corner where all the small incons are....okay do you see the little sound control if not click the arrow in the same spot giving you more options.... okay you should see the little sound control .....now right click on that and the actual sound button should appear ..... make sure it isnt on mute or that it isnt turned all the way down,,, and if that isnt it ....then right click on the sound button it self and open master volume and make sure there are no check marks in the boxes where mute is printer.... and turn the volume to your desire.... walaaa ....it should work.... and if that isnt done then go to start then to control panel , then internet options.... then choose volume and click open then set to satisfaction

first the obvoius, uninstall and reinstall, then check the advanced properties in the sound manager on the control panel to make sure the mute didnt get triggered. then try the manufacturers website of the laptop...AND THE SOUND CODEC(CRYSTAL, CREATIVE, OR WHATEVER0 for an updated driver.
