I think whatever makes the bride happy and what she feels most comfortable in. I think that a wedding gown could be another color besides white and creme and still be quite stunning.
I personally really like white dresses with red trim and red rose details/embroidery..have always wanted one like that.
I have nothing against entirely red, black or any other shade of the rainbow dress..I had a friend get married in a red , white and blue american flag gown since her husband is in the army ( was a little bit crazy..but everyone has their own particular style)
I say I am totally for any color !

I am with that. Who said that wedding gowns have to be a certain color. It's your wedding so you can have any color gown that you want. Besides, white is supposed to be for purity. The majority of us had sex before marriage anyway so again wear whatever color you like!!

Good Luck!

No.

Come on, only if you really believe that white somehow is defined by today's society to mean you're a pure virgin whether or not someone actually is.

A bride only has one day to make it her day, and you shouldn't go with society's expectations of how things have always been or what looks good to all the people who might look up and say, "Whoa, why isn't she wearing white?"

Forget them, they're guests in the wedding for a reason...it's not their wedding.

My sister wore a yellow shawl to her wedding and I actually overheard at least two guests mention how tasteless it was, not knowing that her brother was nearby. I say she's married to the man she loves, wore a stupid yellow shawl, is happy now, and is probably happy that she wore her favorite color on her wedding day (though the dress was still white).

Someday, we're gonna get over society's expectations and realize that marriage should be abuot love, and not about what someone wears. Someday.

I think a bride should be able to pick any color she likes for her gown. After all, it's her day. If you don't have a traditional wedding, you shouldn't be bound by traditional colors. Most wedding traditions are pretty barbaric, anyway!

It's more of a trend to wear colored gowns of gowns with accents of color on the hemline or around the bustline. I am for them, because some of the dresses are very pretty.

Well, for my wedding I am going to wear white. However, people need to wear what they want and what makes them feel comfortable.
When I was considering having a Christmas wedding, I thought about wearing a Cranberry-colored velvet dress.
I think it all has to do with
a) what the looks good in or feels comfortable in, and
b) The type of wedding she is going to have.

Wear whatever you want. Its your wedding dress.

Personally, if I find a dress that I love and fits great on me and it's not too flashy or anything, It's mine! Yeah, the traditional white and creme and stuff is beautiful, but do what makes you feel the greatest.. If you want a bright red dress, go for it!

totally love the idea of a colored dress. I want mine to be red or olive depending on when I get married in the year. I think it allows more individuality.

I'm fine with it. But if a bride wore like, a lime green dress, then I'd start wondering just how weird she was. LOL
But go with what you like, since it's your wedding day.

Its completely fine, and in some situations (like location weddings, outdoors) they are totally appropriate.
