I used to be a janitor in a medical school, and the cadavers in the anatomy lab were kind of ripe. The stench of formaldehyde is bad.
But the absolute worst thing that I have ever smelled was an open jar of shad sides. For those who don't know, shad sides are fish bait that is fermented in something horrible. It is so foul that you have to use one set of pliers to take them out of the jar and hold them, and another to hold your hook while you bait it, lest you accidentally touch yourself. If you get it on you, give it up you will wreak for a week.

A big fat rat got stuck and died up our downpipe from our toilet. We got the man with the rods to clear it out. The smell of two week old ripe rat combined with turds of a similar vintage even made the drain cleaner puke.

My coat after it had been dragged around the Dublin bars on a weekend away with the girls. I can't describe the smell and I hope I never smell it again.

One time I went out drinking, and the next day I thought I was going to die. Anyway, I had to go to the bathroom (#2) and it smelled so bad, I threw up.

My cat developed a large abcess and the vet had to lance it. Brown goop shot across the room and the smell was so horrid that I had to leave the room.

when i left my cats food out accidently and went on holiday in the summer, came back after 2 weeks and it was really rotten couldnt get rid of the smell for AGES!

mince that had been left in a closed plastic container on the bench, and forgotten. mum opened the lid and the disgusting, putrid smell got everywhere - it made me feel physically sick!
