Mary Winkler planned this, loaded the shotgun, hid it in the closet, waited for him to go to sleep, shot him in the back in cold blood, it wasn't even self-defense, didn't call for help, fled out of state down to the Gulf of Mexico on Alabama's coast. She said she suffered psychological abuse from him because she wrote bad checks, overextended her credit cards and was forced to parade aound in panties for his sex cravings. She claimed traumatic stress syndrome. I think she should have been put to death or at least life in prison. I cannot believe this happened and that people are talking about Paris Hilton! Maybe Mary should marry OJ. (By the way, I have Mary Winkler as a contact on this site-ask her yourself.)

Mary Winkler IS a good person . She just happened to have been married to an abusive maniac and she snapped. I was in a marriage like that. Everybody thought we were great but when the front door closed the world out; the hell began. Luckily I was able to escape and find the person I was. Until you have been in that position, you can't even begin to understand. I'm glad she has the support of her family and she definitely has my support.

I think that's a low blow.Until you are the one in a situation like that you don't know how you will react.Think of what really trully pisses you off them magnify it 100 times, every waking hour how long will you last? She lasted 9 years.I trully have pity for mary wrinkler, she lost everything a person can have and her soul too,the only thing left now is to die,she will really never be "right" 100 percent, their are millons of women and some men out there all the same. They didn't ask or beg for their life to be that way it just was.HAVE SOME COMPASSION,yes murder is wrong trully but no more wrong than what he did daily.God is the only one can fix this now and we have no right to judge him.

Give me a break. So she loves her sister.

In this country we still do not fully comprehend the complexity of family dynamics that lead to these kinds of tragedies.

I'm sure Mary's sister only ever saw Mary's wonderful side. That's the problem with spousal psychological abuse: the person (not always the woman) keeps the crime secret and tries to make life seem as perfect as possible.

The problem has been happening for thousands of years. We simply hear more about it today as a result of the media, including the Internet.

Well she prpbably is a good person to her sister. At least she didn't shoot her in the back with a shotgun then leave her to die without calling anyone or even trying to render aid and then say it was a accident.

The wedding vows say "till death do us part" it can't be any clearer than that. The spousal killings are gaining more acceptance. Have we all lost our minds?
