yes. some movies should just be left alone the way they originally were. i have not seen any remake recently 9 with the dawn of the dead one being the exception) that has lived up even close to the original.
but as long as hollywood keeps churning them out people will go to see them so its a never ending cycle.

be prepared in the enxt few months for more of these to come with rob zombies 'halloween" ( a reimagining as he calls it) , an invasion of the body snatchers remake, and a few others leading the way.

between remakes and sequels that dont live up to the hype it really has been a somewhat disappointing summer movie yr so far.
lets hope movies like "superbad", "transformers" and a few others make this a more enjoyable summer than its been at the box office so far.

By all means, no! I find it great that today's scriptwriters need no actual ideas or creativity of their own. Nobody in a creative position should have to actually do any creative work for a living, after all!

Better yet, instead of giving us remakes, Hollywood could start just re-editing, colorizing and possibly digitally remastered director's cutting anything that hit theaters since they managed to put the "motion" in motion pictures.

Hold on... that actually *would* be better. At least they couldn't make use of all these talentless "actors" that abound in the remakes.

super question! i'm p!ssed a pair of lot of them. they does never dare to remake say, celebrity Wars, they only digitally remastered it. i'm able to be certain why they might remake lots of the horror strikes, like Nightmare, so the doomed young little ones interior the movies are not all 70's looking and the recent audiences can relate simply by fact the sufferers interior the action picture would desire to be every person of their very own friends. yet there is something to be mentioned on the subject of the classics, exceptionally conflict. they did no longer have each and every of the flamboyant equipment back then and it became all home made effects. quite of basically 'remaking' a classic flick they might desire to in basic terms enable it incredibly is, the two digitally remaster it or basically arise with an entire new action picture completely. it incredibly is like whilst they tried 'colorizing' a team of black and white video clips years in the past, human beings backlashed against the touching of classics. at some point they are going to touch or redo the incorrect form of action picture (like the Godfather or something else very almost 'holy' to action picture enthusiasts) and there will be serious backlash!

Yeah I'm damn tired of the remakes man. Because I like to watch modern day movies with special effects and funny animations! But when Ive heard a film has been re-made I lose all interest in the movie because I know that they're copying off something way into the past. Rather than create something totally new and exciting!

Take a remake like Poseiden. It was successful in terms of the fact that all they used from the original was the title and the wave hitting the ship. Everything else is their own movie. But sequels and remakes are getting far too over-the top now...

When they are stupid remakes. Hollywood can mess up a good movie with remakes or good books turned movies. Sometimes in the right hands it is fine. Been way too many times when they jack them up.

Yes I am!Why remake something that doesn't need a remake to make it better? The remake of Godzilla sucked,Texas Chainsaw Massacre's remake wasn't as nearly as scary as the original, and most of the other remakes really bit the big one too.Why fix something that isn't broken?Wake up Hollywood!!!!
