If a man is no longer supporting his family----he has NO role.

A marriage is a big commitment, and both spouses vow to help each other out and support each other, too. This means it's a partnership- each side pitches in.
Sometimes things happen..like an illness or an accident. The partner that is hurt has to be helped by the other one. But this is NOT a permanent thing.
If your husband doesn't have a job, isn't looking for one, and isn't helping you out (since he has time to do so), then it's time for you to make a list of pros and cons.

A lazy or abusive parent is NOT what you want as a role model for your kids!
Good luck!

That depends on the man and the marriage hon. If they have no children then they can both work. When they have kids though it is good if the woman stays home and raises them because she is raising children to be adults for the future generation. All over we see too many latch key kids with no supervision getting into all kinds of trouble. You know the columbine school shooting was done by middle class kids whose parents both worked. No one was home after school for a while. Stay at home mothers are looked down on when they have the most important job, teaching and raising kids to be decent human beings,Not and easy task.Children require a lotof attention. The husband should also take a part in this when he is at home.

You need more explanation to get good advice. Do you mean he isn't working outside the home any longer? Is he looking for work? (His role is then to find a job as fast as possible, so leave him alone and let him do that.) Is he disabled? (His role is to do what he can to help out with the kids and housework and get better, if possible.) Is he lazy and refuses to work? (Leave him.)

I agree with Jennifer 100%, he has no role whatsoever if he is unable to support his family. He is useless at this point.
