Money can not buy happiness... can love or friendship buy happiness?

I can be happy for a good long time with only my own company but eventually, I need human contact. Everyone's tolerance for interpersonal connection is different; striking the right balance between solitude and mingling is what creates peace and happiness. And no, love and friendship don't BUY happiness...they help to create it. The most important things are those you can't buy but have to earn.

Namaste.

I think that depends a lot upon the person in question. Many people have a monastic tendency and are quite content without human contact while others thrive on personal relationships and feedback from friends.

Happiness has its roots within. Love and friendship are both wonderful additions to happiness. They can function much like the sun does with plants, nurturing warmth and growth. If the seeds of happiness are planted within a tender breeze, a fragrant flower, a kind word or smile or about anything can help happiness bloom.

I can be happy w/o the company of friends.

I can find happiness when I successfully completed my tasks - the projects accorded to me by my company. I feel happy when I not only receive my promotion for that but also awards given by the governer and mayor. I feel happy when I can rise above the rest.

Put it in this way. In my line of work, there is no such thing as friends.

Living without friends, yes, it can be done. It probably has. Can't imagine it'd be a great life though.

However, living without any human communication, I honestly think would kill you faster than being social butterfly. Imagine waking up one morning and someone saying "you shall never talk to another human again," why would you even want to live.

So yes, absolutley, love and friendhsip can buy happiness.

Happiness is a state of mind. Your elbow or your knee would not experience this state. When you realize how your mind operates, happiness is something that you have control over.
