Empty? Compared to the rest of the US, yes, and we like it that way! Alaska has about 650,000 people in the entire state and it is the biggest state. Come up and visit as tourists are always welcome. The air is clean and fresh, the water is pure and cold, the sights are amazing.

I just returned back from Alaska (Fairbanks/Fort Wainwright)...after living there for 3 years. It has it's beauty (Denali, the northern lights, North Pole Alaska Santa Claus House, Anchorage etc)...I met some good friends...but the winter is hell!
But of course if you can enjoy darkness for months at a time with temps of negative 50...plugging in your vehicle and bundling up like the Michellin man before you attempt to go out...(though really it only take me a light North face or Columbia jacket to feel bundled up)...Winter is about 8 months out of the year...you wonder if the snow is ever going to leave...then when it does...you are on to 24 hour sunlight...a short but nice summer...despite the millions of mosquitoes...forest fire smoke and ash....rain..etc...summers are generally about mid to high 70's average. Your body definitely has to make the adjustments each season...to learn to go to sleep when it is sunny outside and kids are riding and playing at 2am. The winters are depressing with being dark all day....June 21st is the longest day with Dec 21st being the shortest...Summer and winter solstice....it is a continuous cycle from June 21st we start losing minutes of daylight until the 21st of Dec when we start gaining a few minutes a day...It didn't help much the fact that my husband was gone for 2 out of the 3 yrs we...I lived there...he was deployed to Iraq the majority of that time.
Let's just say...I am a warm weather girl...the day we left there it was -50...I am happy to be out of there...you have to be prepared for the worst in that brutal temp...always carry winter gear etc...ack and break up..YUCK (when the snow starts melting...and the 6 inches of ice you have been driving on for months starts to melt...messy! It has a high rating in depression and domestic violence as well. Alaska...you either love it or hate it. I am happy to be back to civilization! It is a different way of life there...the kids go out for recess up to negative 20.

Here is something you all might be interested in....it is real time with refreshing every few minutes...but you can see what a part of Fairbanks looks like each and every day...also the winter and summer...time difference...if it is 10am on the East Coast then it is 6am in Alaska. The cam is in the News Miner Newpaper office window...looking out to an intersection of Immaculate Conception church the oldest one in Fairbanks and on the other side a few restaurants and tattoo place.

P.S. Lots of reclusive people live there. Most go and live there as they say to stay away from the "LOWER 48" Or I have heard them call it the "LESSER 48".

objective of life is to be certain who will honor and persist with God's word the final. What does it propose to stay? It potential something damaging for the believer yet something super for the unbeliever simply by fact the subsequent life is the single which will count number.
