I would suggest writing down bullet points. For example,

Is the dad a hard worker? Does he believe in the value of honest work? By this he is showing his children diligence, that he values his family enough to support them financially.

Does the dad encourage his children by giving them affection, verbal praise, assistance when you need it? If he does, he is helping his children become more self assured and enabling them to be successful. Also helping them realize the role encouragement plays in a person's life.

Is the dad still married to the mother? By this he is showing that he is faithful to one woman and that he stands with her through thick and thin. He is providing his children a role model for marriage. (naturally marriages are not perfect, but it is a starting off point)

Does the dad spend time with his children? If he does, he is showing his children that they are important enough to him that he will take the time to play with them.

The list can go on and on. I would suggest taking one point and expound upon that. 100 words is not that much for an essay so it should not be too difficult to come up with something.

My father was a great inspiration to me. During World War II he suffered wounds that would eventually kill him when he was 40 and when I was aged just 10. However in the short time we had together he taught me the values between right and wrong and how I should always treat other people better than they treated me. Even right up to his untimely death he displayed courage, bravery and optimism and inspired in me a fighting spirit that is still with me 50 years after his passing. God bless you Dad.

Just less than 100 words. I wouldn't call that an essay, more of a statement but, there you are.
