"Emo" is short for emotional. It is a genre of music and style of dress. Just another thing to stereotype people such as your friend. Mostly "emo" people wear like tight skinny leg jeans, wear band tees or a lot of black, and have a "gothy/punky" style to them. Emo boys have the like big sceneish hair and some might have thick rimmed glasses. Just because your friend wears black does not mean shes emo.
I've been called it too so don't worry.

"emo" is supposed to be a state of mind. its short for emotional. people wear that title proudly now. people who r actually emo, in my expieriace, harm themselves sometimes, by eraser burns and putting salt on it later theres other things they do, but i dont wanna get into it. to me "emo" is short for depressed. but if she is just wearing black and nothing else, theres nothing wrong with that.

Near as I can tell emo means emotional? how that fits with wearing all black eludes me! She may be Goth which is Gothic, black clothes lots of base and blood red make up, multiple piercings!

Emo is a movement among teenagers that proclaims...well...it doesn't try to proclaim anything except femininity and whining really.
Men should be men, but that ideal is lacking today. /sigh

emo is many diff things but have you seen cuts on her wrists cuz if you havent then shes goth and goth is a state when somweone gets depressed and they arent socail and they arent suicidal
